About Stockland Waterlea

Waterlea (formerly known as ‘Stamford Park’) is a 6.3 hectare medium density site, 26 kilometres south east of the Melbourne CBD. Located adjacent to Kingston Links Golf Course, the new community will comprise a diverse mix of single and two storey townhouses and apartments in a low-rise building with ground floor parking. The property will be developed into the medium density residential component of a wider 40-hectare parkland, wetland and heritage precinct.

About Stockland

Stockland is one of the largest diversified property groups in Australia with more than $15.8 billion of real estate assets including shopping centres, logistics centres and business parks, offices, residential communities and retirement living villages. Stockland was founded in 1952 with a vision to ‘not merely achieve growth and profits but to make a worthwhile contribution to the development of our cities and great country’.

It is this recognition, that business has more to offer society than profits alone, that has seen Stockland endure. As a real estate owner, manager and developer, Stockland believes that they have both the opportunity and the responsibility to create the right balance of social, environmental and economic conditions for their communities, customers and investors now and in the future.

Why is Stockland involved in the School?

Stockland’s sustainability strategy focuses on the opportunity to deliver shared value and has three core sustainability priorities:

  1. Shape thriving communities
  2. Optimise and innovate
  3. Enrich the value chain.

Stockland’s involvement with the School means their Waterlea supply chain can access the School’s comprehensive online learning environment. Providing access to the School’s wide range of freely-available e-learning modules means Stockland can support its construction and infrastructure suppliers and sub-contractors to develop their sustainability knowledge and competence.

How will this help meet Stockland and Green Star requirements?

Organisations of all sizes are signing up to the School so they can grow the skills and knowledge of their people, make more informed, sustainable and cost-effective decisions, operate more efficiently and sustainably, and become more competitive in today’s market. Because the e-learning modules correspond directly to Stockland’s contractual requirements and to the criteria for Green Star certification, businesses will be better placed to understand what these requirements mean to them and Stockland will be in a better position to meet the environmental, economic and social objectives of the Stamford Park works.
