About Transport for Tomorrow
Laing O’Rourke has partnered with KBR and Transport for NSW to deliver the More Trains, More Services (MTMS) Stage 2 South works package and Sydney Metro enabling works packages. The partnership, known as Transport for Tomorrow, will upgrade the T4 Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra Line and the South Coast Line for the MTMS2 South, with additional key Sydney Metro enabling works being completed at St Marys, North Strathfield and Westmead.
The $300+ million MTMS South works package is expected to provide significant employment opportunities in areas along the South Coast. This is intended to provide an opportunity for community members to work close to home. Transport for Tomorrow has also committed to an Infrastructure Skills Legacy Program to provide local workers and suppliers with the opportunity to gain experience on large projects.
The Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport and Sydney Metro West Projects are being delivered to improve the safety, efficiency and reliability of Sydney’s train network and aim to improve connectivity across the city. These projects will support a growing city and deliver world-class metro services to more communities. The Sydney Metro Western Airport project will deliver approximately 23 kilometres of rail line between St Marys Station and the Western Sydney Aerotropolis at Bringelly. Additionally, Sydney Metro West is a new 24-kilometre metro line with stations confirmed at Westmead, to Hunter Street in the Sydney CBD. The TfT Sydney Metro enabling works are centred around the upgrade and relocation of existing utility routes at Westmead, North Strathfield and St Marys, with the relocation of existing lift shaft and stair infrastructure also taking place at St Marys Station.

Download Sustainability is about maximising our environmental, economic and socio-economic performance in the interests of the Project our stakeholders and our planet. Transport for Tomorrow is uniquely placed through our operating model and value proposition to take a long-term approach to sustainability. This policy sits alongside our Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental, Security and Business Resilience policies as part of our global policy framework, underpinned by our Global Code of Conduct. To show the Project’s commitment to building a sustainable future, we are implementing a strategy that aims to create sustainable growth by working with TfNSW to deliver multiple Sustainability ratings via both the Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC) and TfNSW Sustainability Design Guidelines v4.0 frameworks. Why are we involved in the School?
This project will be engaging with thousands of businesses – from sole traders and small businesses to medium-sized and large organisations. We are passionate about working with our supply chain to ensure that we all share the same commitment to our sustainability priorities. To facilitate this, we encourage our suppliers to ‘learn as we go’, through our partnership with the Supply Chain Sustainability School.
Organisations of all sizes are signing up to the school so they can grow the skills and knowledge of their people, make more informed, sustainable and cost-effective decisions, operate more efficiently and sustainably, and remain competitive in today’s market. The school’s e-learning modules correspond directly to our Projects objectives and targets and through the online training, suppliers will gain a better understanding of the applicability of these targets to their work and our supply chain.
